Le Donator wreck diving spot

WRECK HISTORY…
Built in Norway in 1931, this cargo ship named the “Donator”. Sold in 1933, and then bought by the Schiaffino Company who transform it into a wine tanker and rename “Prosper Schiaffino”. In October 1945, during a storm, it stepped on a sea mine between Porquerolles and Port-Cros and sink quickly.
A single dive will not be enough to discover entirely ! The wreck lies upright on a sandy bottom. The propeller is gigantic, the spare one behind the conning tower also. The superb ship wheel will leave you mute ! You can enter the passageways, looking for the kitchen, the crew quarters where sit a bathtub, wine cellars or engines.

THE FLORA AND FAUNA…
The flora and fauna will be there also ! You will meet moray eel, grouper, sea bream, damselfishes, red mullet, conger, swallowtail sea-perch, Scorpion fish, fork-beard… And also enormous soft coral and sea sponge who has colonised the superstructure.
