Le Grec or Sagona wreck

Come discover a legendary wreck ship on the Var coast !

WRECK HISTORY…
Built in Scotland in 1912, this small cargo had several owners. before sink under Panamanian flag, During a strong Mistral day, the boat loaded with wine step on a sea mine. It sank very quickly on December the 3rd 1945, two dead and one missing. The ship name was the “Sagona” but the onboard papers and the crew were Greek, it was nicknamed the “Le Grec”.
Let’s go to wonderland… The wreck lies on the right side on a sandy bottom. In two pieces, the front is 50 meters from the rest of the ship. Everything is on display here, the winch, the propeller, the wedges full of broken barrels, the smokestack, the mast who lies on the port side.

THE FLORA AND FAUNA…
the flora and the fauna has found there sanctuary. The passageways
are invaded with red and two-tone soft coral, the whole wreck is a home for grouper, sea goldie, moray eel, and hundreds of dentex.
