Villa Carmignac museum of contemporary art

Located in Porquerolles, in the heart of a national park, Villa Carmignac welcomes the public each year to discover contemporary art exhibitions, a sculpture garden and a cultural program.

The Fondation Carmignac, created in 2000 on the initiative of Édouard Carmignac, welcomes the public to Porquerolles, a Mediterranean forest on the open sea.
In the midst of an exceptional national park, visitors will discover contemporary works of art from the Carmignac collection, temporary exhibitions, a sculpture garden and a cultural program.

The island is not an insignificant choice: "As in any myth or voyage of initiation, the crossing to the island is always a double movement, one physical, the other mental. In the words of its Director, Charles Carmignac, "It's about crossing over to the other shore.

Arriving on the island, visitors discover a Provençal farmhouse, blending into the landscape. Inside, volumes expand to reveal 2,000 m2 of exhibition space. Natural light, filtered through an aquatic ceiling, illuminates the spaces hidden beneath the surface.
Outside, a 15-hectare garden designed by landscape architect Louis Benech is home to a series of works inspired by the site.
