Maison du Patrimoine – Centre d’Interprétation du Patrimoine Métropolitain

The 17th century mansion now houses the Maison du Patrimoine de la Métropole Toulon Provence Méditerranée, a place where the history of the city's heritage can be retraced in an innovative way.

This mansion house has rare Mannerist gypsum decorations and large Renaissance-style vaults that have been completely restored, but the centrepiece of the décor is its remarkable baluster staircase decorated with astonishing gypsum decor.

The exceptional quality of these decorations and the good state of conservation of the whole has earned it a classification as a Historic Monument.
This museum offers you :
- 7 exhibition rooms to discover its ancient heritage and contemporary architecture,
- A temporary exhibition room (outside the walls)
- A room dedicated to workshops (school, extracurricular and extracurricular),
- A boutique-library highlighting the excellence of Ollioules' craftsmanship,
- A conference room (outside the walls) in a heritage site.
A museum turned towards digital technology
Its originality: an immersive museum tour and layout and a fabulous journey through time told on the walls and ceilings with the help of a visual and sound device giving pride of place to architecture, landscapes, battle scenes, etc...
A virtual character named Gaspard de Besse, "Brigand with a big heart" well known to the people of Provence, will appear at the museum reception desk via a digital tablet. Simply activate it in the chosen language for each point of interest. Its main mission: to guide the visitor and facilitate his access to knowledge.

Thus, this colourful companion, with a Provencal accent, will accompany you, inform you and encourage you to participate and interact, in particular through a treasure hunt which will be rewarded at the end of the visit with a diploma of : "Treasure seeker", "Great explorer", "Great adventurer", "Super hero"...
